Day 5 was to be the circumnavigation of Mount Desert Island, but a forecast of increasing afternoon winds and possible thunderstorms caused a cancellation - hopefully next year. Having the gear and boats ready, Sue and I head to Bar Harbor

Sergio > Nice house - missed this the first time - needed to be further out and looking back to town
Sergio > Back in Bar Harbor at Bar Island - went over this in the morning - now at low water it's a causeway - end up going around Bar
Sergio > Back in Frenchman Bay (we've passed Hulls) and heading to Salisbury Cove - nice piece of engineering
Sergio > Another cave - at 'The Ovens' again - can see it's starting to rain - gentle for now
Sergio > MOre gentle rain and and some interesting bands in the sky
Sergio > These were amazing looking clouds/bands
Sergio > Another look at the clouds - we're entering Salisbury Cove as the winds pick up a bit and the rain is a bit harder
Sergio > Winds are now howling (from Hadley Point direction) and rain is pelting - actually stung like hail - we pull off into a cave to wait it out and have some lunch.
Sergio > Took this just after a massive thunderclap - didn't see the lightning, but definitely felt the rumble - Hadley's (our start and end point) is just beyond the faint land mass shape visible at center far left
